Lynn's story... Since joining CFSC in January, I have become friends with people I workout with on a pretty regular basis. Tracey and J. Whit welcomed me to my first few WODs and encouraged me, which motivated me to keep coming back. Now, I usually work out with Beth and Anne who always help me with my form and encourage me to push myself. I usually do WODs with J. Whit, Chris, and Jake who provide consistent help with my form on various lifts and exercises. I love the support and encouragement members give to each other. About two and half months ago, I decided to try rowing, and I fell in love. I love the discipline, the coordination, the synchronicity, stamina, and commitment rowing requires. Most of all I love the people I’ve gotten to know through rowing. Dustin is the best instructor. He’s perceptive, intuitive, and observant. He sees everything and knows what you need to do to be better. Jess and Katie are awesome role models. I have learned a lot by watching them. All three of them are welcoming, knowledgeable, supportive, encouraging, and a lot of fun.

Think you’re too old to start CrossFit? Stephanie was one of our first members at Intense when we opened in 2009, and although she took a hiatus from CrossFit for a few years, she came back last fall and is now stronger than ever at 58 years old! When Stephanie began CrossFit with our Zero to Sexy ladies group, her back squat was just 70 pounds. Now, she has PR’d her back squat at 135 pounds! Stephanie has lost 7 pounds even though she insists she “is not really trying” to lose weight – just doing CrossFit workouts in conjunction with a healthy diet. Stephanie has realized that if you start slow and learn the proper technique for the movements at CrossFit Intense, when you do the best that YOU can do, the rest will come!
